Tribute to the Dutch landscape

Size 140 cm wide x 100 cm high, mixed media on linen

This landscape is from the present time and comes directly from the past into today’s time: what you see with your eyes (above ground) and what you don’t see (below ground) is placed in history.

The past and the present are tangible and visible in the current moment. I do this literally: in addition to new materials, there is history in the materials I use.

The past gets as much time as the present. This is reflected in the many details, in the amount of thoughts you can grasp, and in the amount of life you can see.

Every type of weather is present, the many small circles symbolize soap bubbles filled with ‘hidden history’.

Nothing has a fixed form, what has been developed remains in development. Like the sun which is represented in geometrical phases and tries to get a fixed form. Surrealism is actually very real and has nothing strange about it.
